Le Corbusier - Travels, objects and collections

Sale price€35,00

Le Corbusier did not collect works of art, but rather all kinds of everyday objects: shells, pieces of wood, glass or bone, stones, enamelled ceramics, bricks and common objects. Objects found or collected while travelling, collected and stored in small displays, making up the Swiss architect's private collection: the only guidelines were personal taste and the appeal of the shapes and materials.
Collectively, they became Le Corbusier's travelling companions and sources of inspiration, "objects with a poetic reaction" capable of speaking the language of nature.

The book Le Corbusier. Viaggi, oggetti e collezioni, published by Corraini and designed by Studio Radl, comes out to mark the exhibition of the same name at the Pinacoteca Agnelli in Turin, which opens in spring 2021. The exhibition is spread over the entire third floor of the gallery and traces Le Corbusier's life, centered on his endless search for ideas and inspiration, using objects, drawings and photographs.
