47 Fotos inaugurates the new series by Corraini Edizioni I Quaderni di Spazio Munari. Small, unpublished in-depth studies that, starting from the research exhibited at Spazio Munari, serve to see Bruno Munari's work with new eyes.
In this volume, published on the occasion of the exhibition Fotochiacchierata curated by photographer Jason Fulford, 47 photos are collected - those taken by Bruno Munari or on his behalf in black and white, those by Fulford in colour. A flow of images side by side that speak to us of lightness, of irony, of the possibility of looking at reality with ever different eyes and perspectives.
Fulford, who puts the association of images at the centre of his work as an engine for new meanings, gives us here an unexpected photographic portrait of Munari and his way of looking at photography.
Bruno Munari and I never crossed paths in real life, but I still think of him as a friend. In Munari’s books I found a kindred spirit who blurs the line between work and play. I wondered if it might be possible to talk with him now, in the medium where we met. What follows is the result. It’s a conversation between photos — his in black and white, and mine in color. - Jason Fulford
